Every successful Scouting unit has at least one thing in common: camping. Units that thrive are units that have fun outdoors. Their members learn skills that they share with their families, further spreading Scouting’s message of enjoying and respecting our natural resources.
Units are free to schedule camping trips to areas all over Texas, or even outside the state. The Capitol Area Council owns seven different camping properties that cover areas from Giddings to Gonzales to Bastrop to Llano. Scout units can use these facilities for hiking, camping and other activities. Inside this section you will find an overview of each Council camping property, and information about how to reserve a spot for your unit.
NOTE: Capitol Area Council units do not have to pay a camping fee to use any Capitol Area Council camping property for regular weekend camping or day events. Out of Council units will have to pay $5 per camper. |
