New to Scouting

What is Scouting? In short, it is the most successful youth program in American history. It is different from many other programs, being a proven a combination of fun, adventure and values. Scouts grow up to be better, stronger members of their community and nation. Scouting serves all races and creeds, and how much money you have is not a factor. It does not care if you are athletically gifted. Scouting is opportunity - the opportunity to succeed.

In this section you'll learn about the leadership of the Capitol Area Council, which oversees Scouting programs in 15 central Texas counties. Please read through the "Welcome to Scouting" section to learn more about what Scouting is, and how it will benefit your family. You will no doubt have questions, and you can ask them by either going to “New to Scouting FAQ” in this section or clicking the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of any page on this website.
