Training

It doesn’t matter if you just joined Scouting or have 20 years under your belt as a Scoutmaster: you can learn something new. Scouting trains all of its adult leaders, as well as its youth leaders. Youth leadership training is critical to the success of the Scouting program at the Boy Scout and Venturing level, because the youth carry out the program and work with fellow members to reach program goals set for the year.

Scouting training is among the best you’ll find. As an example, our Silver Pines National Youth Leadership Training covers many of the same topics that Fortune 500 companies would teach their management trainees. Of course, in Scouting, youth members are getting this knowledge early – to give them a better chance at succeeding earlier in life than many of their classmates.

This section will give you information and links to Scouting’s online training for new leaders. You’ll also learn about special Capitol Area Council training programs for youth and adults in the “Outdoor/Classroom training” link. And there is a special section here for the Council’s Chaplain’s Program, including information about Scouting’s religious awards program.

You can ask questions by either going to the “Training FAQ” or clicking the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of any page.
