Climbing Instructor Training

For: Leaders 21 and older who want to administer DOK’s Tower programs

Don’t let your unit miss out on the tallest climbing tower in Texas! Being a Climbing Instructor means you’ll be able to take your Scouts on exciting climbing and rappelling programs. The instructor training course involves multiple classroom sessions, two outdoor sessions at a natural area, then a final weekend at DOK’s Tower at Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp (on the LCRA Lost Pines Scout Reservation).

What you’ll need

Classroom: Notebook and pencil
Final Weekend: Climbing equipment plus camping gear for overnight stay

What it costs

$80 registration

Schedule - Spring

Classroom: St. Michaels Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 1500 N Capital of Texas Highway, 7-9pm

April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, 2008

Natural Area: Bull Creek Greenbelt, 1pm-5pm

April 13 and 27, 2008 

Final Weekend: Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp, 7pm Friday-Sunday afternoon

May 9-10, 2008

Schedule - Fall
(Note that participants will go home Saturday night, then end the training Sunday 1pm-5pm at Bull Creek Greenbelt)
