On My Honor: Recognizing the Class of 2011 Eagle Scouts

When: February 18, 2012 from 1:30pm-2:45pm (gather at 1:00 pm, opening at 1:30 pm)

Where: Sarah Keithley Conference Center in the Frank Fickett Scout Training and Service Center

Who: 2011 Eagle Scouts, their families, their Scoutmasters/mentors, troop friends, and Eagle Scout alumni

What: This special recognition ceremony will honor those Boy Scouts who successfully completed their Eagle Board of Review during calendar year 2011. In order to be included in the Class of 2011 on the Eagle Wall tablets (which will be unveiled at this ceremony), a Scout's Eagle paperwork - with all final approvals after completing the Eagle Board of Review - must be in the Fickett Center by or before 5pm on Friday, December 30, 2011. Fee: There is no charge for the event thanks to generous sponsors, nor is any registration needed
  • New tablets will be unveiled with all 2011 Eagle Scouts for the Eagle Wall outside the Fickett Center in the Puett Eagle Plaza
  • Inspirational ceremony with speakers and clips that showcase the lifelong influence of being an Eagle
  • All 2011 Eagle Scouts who attend will be recognized individually and presented with a special commemorative Capitol Area Council Eagle Scout coin:

  • Coins may be available for purchase through the Steve Matthews Scout Shop for Scouts who cannot attend.
  • Eagle Mentors or Scoutmasters will be asked to stand and be recognized as we call each Eagle Scout forward – please invite them to attend with you
  • Photo station for family pictures – bring your camera
  • Eagle Scouts requested to wear their Class A uniform
  • Reception with cake to follow
This will not be a Court of Honor, rather, our council recognition of the Class of 2011 Eagle Scouts.

This ceremony is being held Saturday afternoon as a special showcase to honor 2011 Eagles. Saturday evening we will hold our council recognition banquet to present the Silver Beaver and other council-level awards to adult volunteers that have been selected from 2011 nominations.
