Special Partner: Austin Habitat for Humanity
Communities are built when people have a stake in where they live, whether it's a home they own, the school where their child attends or a place of worship where they gather to reflect. The values in the Scout Oath and Scout Law are our guideposts - our stake from which we work to make our communities, nation and world better.
Habitat for Humanity's mission of building communities through volunteer service mirrors Scouting's aims. Habitat has been a national service partner of the Boy Scouts of America since 2004, as a part of the "Good Turn for America" initiative. Locally, Austin Habitat for Humanity and our council have a formal partnership to build stronger communities through home building service projects, as well as promoting the creation of new Scouting units in neighborhoods surrounding Habitat builds.
We will update this page as we have ongoing service opportunities in conjunction with Austin Habitat for Humanity.
