Lost Pines Scout Reservation

Camp Details

  • Nearly 542 acres, on the northern shores of Lake Bastrop
  • Home to the tallest climbing tower in Texas, DOK’s Tower
  • Excellent Catfish and Largemouth Bass fishing
  • Some campsites located on the water
  • Drinking water and limited restrooms with showers are available
  • Not available for weekend camping in June, July or late December

NOTE: effective September 1, 2023, every adult present on overnight activities must be registered as an adult member of Scouting. This means submitting an adult application and registration fee, undergoing a criminal background check and volunteer screening database check, and completing Youth Protection training just like all adult leaders.

Program Areas

Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scout Camping ONLY

DOK’s Tower

  • $150 charge per group for full day usage (8-10 hours)
  • Must provide your own BSA certified climbing instructor

Fishing

  • No council fee
  • Adults should have current state fishing license

Shooting Sports Ranges

  • Must provide your own NRA certified instructor for firearm use
  • Must provide your own USA Archery certified Level 1 or higher instructor to use archery equipment
  • Archery equipment, rifles, shotguns available for rental

Aquatics

  • Pool available for troop rental
  • Canoes may be available for use at Lost Pines at no charge with reservation

Weekend Camping Information

General Information

  • Campsites are reserved on a first come, first served basis
  • All units must satisfy BSA two deep leadership standards
  • All program area fees must be paid in advance to the Capitol Area Council office online
  • NOTE: vehicles are not permitted to access campsites
  • Webelos Woods, Camporees, Rendezvous and similar District group events are not allowed due to the high use LPSR currently experiences.

Capitol Area Council units are required to pay $3 per youth/adult to use our council camping properties for regular weekend camping or day events. Out of council units have to pay $6 per camper (youth or adult). These fees are used to offset camp cleaning supplies/services and operating expenses.
