Burn Ban Lifted at Most Council Camps

Details
Our council's Properties Committee, in conjunction with council professional leadership, has lifted the burn bans for Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp, Cub World, Camp Alma McHenry, Roy D. Rivers Wilderness Camp and Camp Green Dickson, effective immediately. This decision comes after local authorities in Bastrop and Gonzales Counties removed the burn bans in their respective areas.

This decision means that ground fires or cooking fires fueled by charcoal, wood or any other solid fuels are once again allowed at these properties. However, in accordance with the Guide to Safe Scouting, all Scouts/Scout units/Scout volunteers and personnel should continue to act responsibly and make sure all fires are completely out before leaving any of these camp properties.

A burn ban remains in effect at Wolf Mountain Scout Ranch. Our volunteer and professional leadership will continue to monitor decisions by Llano County authorities as to the appropriate time to lift the ban at Wolf Mountain.
