Jamboree on the Air October 20

Details
Jamboee-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is an annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in your own community.

This year, we will contact other Scouts by bouncing High Frequency radio waves off the Ionosphere from our very own Frank Fickett Center!

Several "Ham Radio Stations" will be setup in front of the Matthews Scout Shop between 9am-3pm on Saturday, October 20. Operators from the Austin Amateur Radio Club will be available to allow Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers to get on the air. This event might inspire you to earn the Radio Merit Badge (a STEM merit badge) and go on to becoming a licensed operator yourself.

Please contact Steve Sullivan for more information at 512-695-2922.
