Message from outgoing Scout Executive J.T. Dabbs

Details
To:  Capitol Area Council volunteers
From:  J.T. Dabbs

I wanted to wish each of you a happy and peaceful holiday season and let you know how much I appreciate all you do for Scouting.

I met many of you during my travels through our council over the past four and a half years and saw your work first-hand. Each week you deliver the promise of Scouting to the more than 23,000 youth served by this council. Scouts in Central Texas are very lucky to have you.

As some of you know, I have accepted the position as Scout Executive of the Greater Alabama Council, effective December 5, 2011. I will be moving to the council where I grew up and where I earned my Eagle.

My wife Ginger and daughter Lydia wish all of you the best. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all you do for Scouting. The Capitol Area Council is a great place for Scouting and that is because of each of you.

It has been a honor to serve with you and to know many of you. Keep up the terrific work on behalf of our youth.

See you on the Scouting Trail,

J.T. Dabbs, III
