McKinney Falls State Park in Austin will hold a grand opening on Saturday, February 25, for a new 1.5-mile addition to the existing Homestead Trail that winds through the heart of the park. Festivities begin at 8am with a bird hike hosted by Travis County Audubon. Later that morning, members of the Austin Ridge Riders will lead a guided mountain bike ride on the new trail sections in a previously undeveloped part of the park.
