Details
The following is a message from the Catholic Committee on Scouting:

The next Diocesan Scout Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 10am at St. Anthony Marie de Claret parish located at 801 N. Burleson Kyle, TX 78640. Bishop Joe Vasquez will preside at this Mass to celebrate Catholic Scouting of all ages and levels. All Catholic Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls are encouraged to attend with their families. Scouts who have earned a religious emblem since the last Diocesan Scout Mass will be identified in the program and recognized by the Bishop at the Mass. Eagle, Venturing Silver/Gold and Stars and Stripes awards will also be identified and recognized. Certificate requests for these awards can be made at http://www.scouting.austindiocese.org/eagles.htm.

We are in need of the following ministers for the Mass: 2 lectors (1st reading and Prayers of the Faithful), 4 altar servers, 2-4 gift bearers, 2-4 greeters, 4 ushers (can be adults), 5 flag bearers (flags are heavy so preferably middle and high school Scouts), and possibly 2-4 Extraordinary Minsters of Holy Communion (must be commissioned).  If you or your Scout is interested in assisting at the Mass please send an email to austindccs@gmail.com with volunteer’s name and desired position(s).

Volunteers should plan to arrive an hour prior to Mass. All others should arrive 30 minutes before Mass. Scouts will need to check in at the parish hall. Scouts have the option of processing in and sitting as a group or sitting with their families. Scouts and leaders should wear their Scout uniform, including their most recent religious emblem.  There will be a short reception following Mass in the parish hall. Bishop Joe will be available after Mass for individual and group photos. Please bring your cameras!
