Songbird Festival in April

Details
Scouts from our council will teach outdoor skills at the 12th annual Balcones Songbird Festival. Troop 198 from Lago Vista and Troop 282 from Burnet will conduct two hands-on learning activities from Noon-5pm on Saturday, April 29, to the general public and groups.

This is a great opportunity to learn basic skills in using a compass, reading topographic maps, using a handheld GPS and various rope knot techniques. Children seven and older are encouraged to participate in these basic entry level skills activities.

The festival is based at the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge headquarters on FM 1431, fives miles east of the Lago Vista High School.
