Apologies for this last minute notice, but we just received this request for volunteer help for this weekend's American Council of the Blind conference in Austin. Here is the information from their message:

The Austin Council of the Blind is hosting the American Council of the Blind of Texas at the Hilton Airport Hotel from 8/26-28, 2011.

We need volunteers on Friday, August 26 from 8:30am-10:30pm in 4 hour segments - more or less hours. On Friday most will be arriving and volunteers will be greeting, assist to hotel and conference registration, orientation of the hotel and to find their room. In the afternoon to assist to various meetings, exhibits and in the evening from 7:30pm-11:30pm to assist on a cruise on Lady Bird Lake.

On Saturday, August 27 from 7:30am-9:30pm to assist the blind and visually impaired through the exhibits, to breakfasts, dog relief area, luncheon, and assist to various workshops.

Sunday, August 28 from 7:30am-1pm, assist to the breakfast business meeting, scholarship presentation, and election of officers and then to help assist to check out and go home.
