Rathgeber Wilderness Scout Camp

Camp Details

  • Roughly 60 acres
  • Confluence of Barton and Little Barton Creek along northern boundary of camp
  • Entrance into camp is caliche-style, semi-improved road
  • Primitive-style, Leave No Trace camping
  • Water is not available, no structures on the property
  • No ground fires; cooking on backpacking stoves or propane stoves only
  • All campers must adhere to Hays County burn bans (when in effect)
  • Trash and garbage must be removed from camp; no on-site trash dump
  • Two campsite areas identified for use of no more than 30 persons each
  • At least one adult leader MUST be Leave No Trace (LNT) trained

Two miles east of Dripping Springs on US 290 (14.1 miles west of Loop 1). The entrance is on the north side of the highway past Hays Country Acres Road.
