2023 Peace Light Patch

The Peace Light flame originates at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the site of Jesus’ birth and has burned continuously for over a thousand years. Each year it is transferred from lantern to lantern from Tel Aviv, to Austria, to New York City. Volunteers meet, share and move the live flame across America, from person to person.
The Peace Light is meant to promote peace, harmony and unity among all people. In most regions, the use of light represents redemption, truth, justice, peace and even life itself.
Scouts worldwide have embraced the Peace Light because of its compatibility with Scouting principles and have become its primary carriers. Scouts promise to do their duty to God and community while being reverent.
