Sponsors

Practically all of our council’s annual budget is raised through individual donors’ gifts, fees collected from our camps and activities, our annual popcorn sale, our Scout Shop sales, plus generous support from foundations and trusts. But there are companies which choose to invest in our program through monetary and/or material support. These corporate citizens make it possible for our council to stretch every dollar contributed by individuals to the maximum extent possible.

The following companies/groups/individuals have stepped up to support Scouting in Central Texas. In return, we ask that you consider patronizing these business sponsors and thanking them for their sponsorship.

Why Should Your Company Become a Scouting Sponsor?

When your company contributes to Scouting, you support the premiere youth leadership and character development program in America. Few organizations—profit or nonprofit—enjoy the nationwide recognition and high regard associated with the Boy Scouts of America. Our council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that manages its business according to the Scout Law, striving to be Trustworthy in all our actions and Thrifty with our donors’ contributions. We serve more than 22,000 youth across 15 counties in Central Texas through a proven program that develops future leaders and young adults of good character.

Ways to Sponsor Scouting

Volunteer

Scouting’s strength comes from its volunteers. We can offer your employees, partners, and/or vendors a chance to connect with youth at a traditional outdoor event or a STEM-focused activity. If you’d prefer just to do a Good Turn, we could use your help at one of our camp properties while Scouts are not in attendance. Of course, you’re also welcome to dream up a project that interests your employees and chances are we may have a “fit.” If you’d like to talk about any of these possibilities or others, contact our Director of Community Engagement using the form below:

Fundraising Event Sponsorships

Our council conducts two major fundraising events each year: the Sporting Clays Classic and the Distinguished Citizen Award Luncheon.

Sporting Clays Classic – the original charity clays shoot in Central Texas! The event draws nearly 50 teams each fall to test their aim in friendly competition on multiple shooting courses, enjoy a catered dinner, and take part in a live auction for hunting and fishing trips, vacation stays, and accessories for the outdoors enthusiast.

Distinguished Citizen Award Luncheon – this weekday event annually honors to individuals who share Scouting’s belief in leadership, determination and values, and have contributed significantly to the growth and vitality of Central Texas. Past recipients include ECPR Founder/CEO Elizabeth Christian, Frost Bank President Tim Crowley, Attorney/Philanthropist Tim Taylor, Endeavor Real Estate co-founder David Roche, University of Texas System Chancellor William McRaven, Texas A&M System Chancellor John Sharp, former University of Texas President Bill Powers, former Governor Rick Perry, Texas Disposal Systems co-founders Bob and Jim Gregory, former University of Texas Men’s Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds, past Greater Austin Economic Development Corporation Chair Gary Farmer, Philanthropists Pete and Tomi Winstead, and former Austin Mayor Gus Garcia. Funds from the Award dinner benefit hundreds of Scouting programs across 15 Central Texas counties serving youth regardless of ability or economic level.

Underwriting for these events makes it possible for 100% of all dollars raised to go directly to Scouting programs in Central Texas. If your company would like to know more about any of these events, please contact our Development team using the form below:
