Welcome to the capitol area council!
Our council began in 1912 and has grown over time to support Scouting programs in 15 Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, DeWitt, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Hays, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, and Williamson.
Join Scouting
From Kindergarten to age 20, boy or girl, there's a program for you to have fun, be adventurous, and practice the values of leadership and service.
Become a Volunteer
Help lead a Scout unit, work with other adults on a specific topic, or just tell us your interests and we'll find an opportunity that works for you.
Donate to Scouting
Invest in the most proven program in Central Texas delivering youth leadership training and character development, whether you give now or want to plan a gift for the future.
Shop the Scout Store
Choose from hundreds of items in the Steve Matthews Scout Shop, from clothing to gear and more.
Our Mission:
We prepare young people from all social, economic, and religious backgrounds to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
