National Jamboree
The biggest event in Scouting
July 17-28, 2023
The National Jamboree is a gathering of some 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff held only every four years at The Summit Bechtel Family National Reserve.
Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts attending a Jamboree will enjoy more than five miles of zip line and challenge courses, 36 miles of mountain bike trails, and 13 acres of shooting sports ranges, on a sprawling 10,600-acre site in West Virginia designed for excitement! There are also world class venues for kayaking, rock climbing, bouldering, skateboarding, BMX, plus enjoy arena shows and more.
Here are the prerequisites for youth to attend the Jamboree (birth dates for eligibility will adjust with new dates):
Scouts BSA Scouts
- Must be at least a First Class Scout and at least 12 years of age by July 19, 2023, but have not turned 18 by July 28, 2023
- Participate in pre-Jamboree training experiences in our council, file a BSA Health and Medical Record by deadline, and submit all fees by the council payment schedule
Venturers and Sea Scouts
- Must be registered with a Venturing Crew or Sea Scouts Ship and be at least 14 years of age by July 19, 2023, or 13 years of age and have completed 8th grade, but have not turned 21 by July 28, 2023
- Participate in pre-Jamboree training experiences in our council, file a BSA Health and Medical Record by deadline, and submit all fees by the council payment schedule
How to sign up:
Scouts who want to go to the National Jamboree have to register as individuals through the National Jamboree website. Once registered, Scouts from our area will be assigned to one of the council’s contingent units going to the Jamboree.
Note: in order to register online you will need a my.scouting account. If you don’t already have one, please visit my.scouting.org to create a my.scouting account.
If you register after November 1, 2022, our council fee is $3,815 (past amount was $3,600). This includes airfare, hotels, buses, meals, tickets, Jamboree fees. Once you have registered, our council will reach out and welcome you to our council contingent.
