Get Youth Protection Trained
All registered adult members of the Boy Scouts of America
must be current in Youth Protection Training.
1. Go to
MyScouting.org and create an account.
2. From MyScouting.org, click on E-Learning and take Youth Protection training.
3. Upon completion, print a certificate of completion and keep with your records. .
4. Enter your BSA membership ID number into MyScouting to link your Youth Protection training records and any other training to your membership record. To do this, log into MyScouting, click on My Profile and update the system by entering your member ID number. (Don't know your member ID number? Contact

The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, the BSA developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing programs.

Message from Jon C. Yates re: the Martin Turner Lawsuit
March 8, 2013 - A jury in Travis County Civil Court found our council comparatively responsible for the abuse of three former Scouts by former Austin attorney and Scouting volunteer, Martin E. Turner. Specifically, the jury decided our council was 5% responsible of a $1.5 million verdict.
