STEM Adventure Weekend

STEM Adventure Weekend is a Friday-Sunday campout at Lost Pines Scout Reservation where members of  Scouts BSA Troops may work on STEM-related merit badges and/or Nova Awards. Some merit badges classes have two parts (it’s highly suggested you take both parts if you want to complete the merit badge). It’s not possible to complete the Nova Awards during the weekend; Scouts will leave the weekend with a “partial” (meaning the Scout must work with another Nova Counselor to complete the remaining requirements).

Merit badge class options typically include:

Engineering, Chess, Environmental Science, Nuclear Science, Robotics, Programming, Electronics, Space Exploration, Geocaching, Auto Maintenance, Welding, and Astronomy

Nova Award class options typically include:

Start Your Engines, Mendel’s Minions, Let It Grow, Splash, Shoot, and Whoosh

All classes – whether merit badge or Nova Award – are taught by STEM professionals and/or experts.

Adults may take a Saturday afternoon Nova/Supernova mentor class to be trained as a Nova Counselor and/or Supernova Mentor. Scouts who are ready to start on their Supernova award can find a mentor and get the first requirements finished at the Saturday evening Supernova Kickstarter.

You can learn more about the event, see class schedules, and additional notes at this page on our council’s STEM Nova Committee website.
