Capitol Area Council Reception Recognizing the
Class of 2017 Eagle Scouts

When: Saturday, February 24, 2018

There will be two separate events, one morning and one afternoon:

Group I (Armadillo, Blackland Prairie, North Shore, Sacred Springs, Thunderbird and Waterloo Districts):
    9:30 - 10:00 am Gathering, photo-ops, meet and greet, check-in
  10:00 - 11:15 am Program: speakers, recognize Eagle Scouts, present Eagle Scouts
                                with special commemorative coin.
  11:15 am         Reception: snacks and more photo-ops

Group II (Bee Cave, Chisholm Trail, Colorado River, Hill Country, Live Oak, and San Gabriel Districts):
  1:00 - 1:30 pm Gathering, photo-ops, meet and greet, check-in
  1:30 - 2:45 pm Program: speakers, recognize Eagle Scouts, present Eagle Scouts
                                with special commemorative coin.
  2:45 pm                 Reception: snacks and more photo-ops


Where: Sarah Keithley Conference Center in the Frank Fickett Scout Training and Service Center

Who: 2017 Capitol Area Council Eagle Scouts, their families, their Scoutmasters/mentors, Troop friends, and Eagle Scout alumni

What: This special recognition ceremony will honor those Boy Scouts who successfully completed their Eagle Board of Review during calendar year 2017.

Fee: There is no charge for the event nor is any registration needed. Eagle Scouts will check in to receive their name card when they arrive for the event. 
    
Coin: All 2017 Capitol Area Council Eagle Scouts who attend will be recognized individually and presented with a special commemorative Capitol Area Council 2017 Eagle Scout coin:

     
    Notes concerning the event:
  • Updated tablets will be unveiled with all 2017 Eagle Scouts for the Eagle Wall outside the Fickett Center in the Puitt Eagle Plaza
  • Inspirational ceremony with speakers and video clips that showcase lifelong influence of being an Eagle
  • Coins may be available for purchase through the Steve Matthews Scout Shop for Scouts who cannot attend beginning Monday, February 26, 2018.
  • Eagle Mentors or Scoutmasters will be asked to stand and be recognized as we call each Eagle Scout forward – please invite them to attend with you
  • Photo opportunities for family pictures – bring your camera
  • Eagle Scouts requested to wear their Class A uniform
  • Reception with cake to follow
  • This will not be a Court of Honor, rather, our council recognition of the Class of 2017 Eagle Scouts.
